Application and Policies

Community Center Rental Contract

1.       The Community Center is available for use for cultural, educational, recreational and social events suitable to a neighborhood setting.   

2.       In order to obtain an authorization to use the Center, the applicant must be 21 years old.

3.       The rental fee of $100.00 is required as well as a cleaning and damage deposit of $100.00 for a total of $200.00.  The deposit will be returned upon inspection by a Board Member. Please use two different checks.

4.       The key to the Center must be picked up between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday by calling 936-348-8270 

5.       The Center shall be cleaned as follows:

a.                   The floors must be swept and cleaned of all trash and debris.

b.                   The table and chairs must be cleaned and returned to original positions.

c.                    Restrooms cleaned and trash removed.

d.                   A/C unit must be turned off.

e.                   All lights shall be turned off.

f.                     All doors must be left secured and locked.

g.                   All trash must be removed from the building and trash cans cleaned.

6.       Applicant shall be liable for any and all damages to the Center.  If damages do occur, additional charges will be charged.  Applicant agrees to pay any additional charges for repairs for the Community Center to the Surrounding Community Council of Midway within ten (10) days from the date such notice is mailed to applicant at the address given below.

7.       Applicant shall not create a disturbance by causing excessive noise by any means.

8.       No staples, tacks or nails can be used anywhere in the building.

9.       Applicant agrees to indemnify and holds Surrounding Community Council of Midway harmless against any and all claims, demands, damages, costs and expenses, including attorney’s fees for the defense of such claims, arising from the Applicant’s use of the premises, or from any breach on the part of the Applicant of any condition of this application or from any act of negligence of the Applicant, Applicant’s agent, contractors, employees or licensees in or about the premises in the event of any action or proceeding by counsel acceptable to Surrounding Community Council of Midway.

10.    Applicant shall not assign or sublease the Center.

11.    Surrounding Community Council of Midway reserves the right to rescind or cancel any application at any time, for any reason, by giving notice to Applicant.
